Governing bodies of Poltava region met with world famous economist

The Head of Poltava Regional Council Petro Vorona and The Deputy Head of Poltava Regional State Administration Oleg Pruhlo met with Ukrainian world famous economist Bohdan Hawrylyshyn.
“We want to thank You for the visit and the work You do with our youth. For Ukrainian youth and personally for us You are a legend. I’m saying the least of it. Having gone from your native land, you have created a unique educational image. You are known and respected as an economist in Europe. Glad to see You in Poltava region. “- said Vorona.
Oleg Pruhlo thanked Hawrylyshyn for his patriotism.
“You are the man who reached the top, but remember that You are Ukrainian. You help our youth to believe in themselves, “- said Pruhlo.
Famous economist shared his vision of Ukraine and thanked for the hearty welcome.
“Ukraine is indeed in a terrible situation, but there is huge potential. Ukraine has resources and the quality of human capital. It is especially seen among young people, “- said Hawrylyshyn.
Petro Vorona handed to the economist well known book “100 outstanding individuals of Poltava” and Council honours diploma. Also Petro Vorona presented specific gift – anti-aircraft cartridge, which he brought from the front. Local artists have painted it. It is a symbol of our time.
It should be recalled that now Hawrylyshyn arrived to Poltava. The purpose of the visit is the presentation of the program of Bogdan Hawrylyshyn’s Foundation “Youth of Ukraine will change it.” The gist of it is that the young and active people in groups of 5-7 people (each representing a sector of society) go to one of the six most effective, “healthy” European countries – Austria, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, and Poland. There they meet with local institutions (preliminary agreed their visit) to get an understanding of the functioning of these organizations. However, they should think about introducing foreign experience in Ukraine.
Bogdan Hawrylyshyn – Ukrainian, Canadian and Swiss economist, social activist, philanthropist. He is an active member of the Club of Rome (outstanding people worried prospects of mankind).
Almost thirty years Hawrylyshyn devoted to the International Management Institute IMI-Geneva. He headed the office of Director of Learning (1960-1968 gg.), Director of the Institute (1968-1986 gg.) and honorable scientist (1986-1989 gg.). In Geneva, he taught such subjects as economic development, the management of international operations, global business environment, governance and others.
